Career Exploring Opportunities

career lead visual“Exploring” is Learning for Life’s career education program for high school students. Students can participate in internship/shadowing experiences in a variety of career fields such as aviation, arts & humanities, social services, communications, healthcare, engineering, fire & emergency services and law enforcement. Each Explorer post typically holds an open house (also called first-nighter) in September. This is the time for new students and parents to learn more about the program and join.

Additionally, WKHS previously hosted a Career Fair. Representatives from a wide range of careers volunteered their time and knowledge to share insight with students.  As a component of this effort, all responses from career representatives have been compiled into a career resource handbook.  Each counselor has a career resource handbook in her office and there is also a handbook available for students to access in the front of the counseling and career center.
