If you are planning to take one of the following CC+ college classes:

-          Math 150 – (equivalent to PreCalculus and Honors PreCalculus)

-          Math 200 (equivalent to AP Calculus AB)

-          Math 200 & Math 210 (equivalent to AP Calculus BC)

-          Intro to Business  (Please note, no placement test is required for this course.)

Step 1Apply to COTC at https://cotc.elluciancrmrecruit.com/admissions/pages/welcome.aspx

-          Indicate you will be taking classes at Newark campus even though you will really be taking it here at WKHS with a WKHS teacher.

-          You will need your Social Security Number to apply.

-          The entire application will take you about 10 minutes to complete.

-          Do not use your wscloud email account as your email address.

 

Step 2: Submit ACT or SAT scores or Take Placement Tests no later than July 1st  (Suggested by May 22nd)

-          ACT Scores:

  • If you earned a 22 on the Math, you have met the benchmark for Math 150 and a 28 meets the Math 200 and Math 210 requirements
  • Send a copy of your ACT scores to COTC (log into ACT website to send your scores)

-          SAT Scores:

  • If you earned a 530 on the Math section, you have met the benchmark for Math 150.  A score of at least a 630 is required for Math 200 and Math 210.
  • Send a copy of your SAT scores to COTC (log into SAT website to send your scores)

-          Placement Tests

  • If you have not taken the ACT or SAT or do not have a high enough score to meet the benchmark, then you need to take the placement test at COTC.
  • You can take the placement tests at any of the COTC testing branches or COTC will be at WKHS on Tuesday, May 7th and Tuesday, May 14th during assigned times for students to test.  Students will receive an email to their student email account for test assignments.
  • Prior to taking the test you are strongly encouraged to review the test information and practice so you know what to expect.  Information about the test is availble here.
  • You will need to take the Writing and Math placement tests.  This usually takes about 1 hour per test to complete. 
  • You will need to achieve COTC designated scores in order to reach the level needed to take the CC+ classes.  
    • Test score for Math 150: 100 on Elementary Accuplacer Test
    • Test score for Math 200 or Math 210: 100 on College Level Math Test
  • It is possible to take the placement test more than once if needed.
  • Deadline to submit scores and/ or complete your placement testing is suggested by May 22nd, but students have until July 1st to meet COTC’s requirements.

 

If you are planning to take one of the following CC+ college classes:

-          Composition 1 (English 1100)

-          Composition 2 (English 2367)

-          Psychology (PSY 1100)

-          Sociology (SOC 1101)

-          Mythology (CLAS 1222)

-          Philosophy (PHIL 1100)

-          Intro to Programming Logic (CSCI 1103)


Step 1: Apply to CSCC at http://www.cscc.edu/academics/college-credit-plus/

-          Indicate you are a CC+ student.

-          You will need your Social Security Number to apply.

-          The entire application will take you about 10 minutes to complete.

-          Do not use your wscloud email account as your email address.

-          Approximately 2 days later you will receive your acceptance notification from CSCC with your Cougar ID number listed.  Do NOT lose this number!

 

Step 2: Complete a CSCC Registration Consent Form.

-          Get signed by parent and include your Cougar ID number before submitting the form to the counseling center.  

 

Step 3: Submit ACT or SAT scores or Take Placement Tests no later than July 1st  (Strongly suggested by May 22nd)

-          ACT Scores:

  • If you earned an 18 on the English and a 22 on the Reading, you have met the benchmark
  • Send a copy of your ACT scores to CSCC (log into ACT website to send your scores)

-          SAT Scores:

  • If you earned a 480 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section, you have met the benchmark
  • Send a copy of your SAT scores to CSCC (log into SAT website to send your scores)

-          Placement Tests

  • If you have not taken the ACT or SAT or do not have a high enough score to meet the benchmark, then you need to take the placement test at CSCC.
  • You can take the placement tests at any of the CSCC testing branches. (Delaware, Dublin, Westerville, or Downtown) or at WKHS on Wednesday, May 8th and Thursday, May 9th during lunch periods.
  • You will need to take the reading and writing placement tests.  This usually takes about 2 hours to complete. (Approximately 1 hour per test.)
  • You will need to achieve CSCC designated scores in order to reach the level needed to take the CC+ classes.  
    • Reading test: 80
    • Writing test: 5
  • You will need your Cougar ID number in order to test
  • It is possible to take the placement test more than once if needed.
  • Deadline to submit scores and/ or complete your placement testing is suggested by May 22nd, but students have until July 1st to meet CSCC’s requirements.
